The name Eymet
Eymet is a walled town of the medieval era that survived the 100 years War. This little borough is located near the Dordogne, in the Aquitaine region of France. Eymet is about 100 km away from the Bordeaux region at birds’ eye view; the closest ocean is the Atlantic... The same that feeds the Cocagne Bay and draws a wonderful scenery for our guests.
Eymet is located in the Périgord pourpre (Périgord mostly known for it’s red wines), which inspired the color of l’Auberge Eymet. We also tip our hats at the Impressionist artistes that lend their names to our rooms. Many features of the Inn were inspired by the region surrounding Eymet.
Further more, Eymet, because of it’s favourable location, is renowned for it’s gastronomy and wines. Good food, good wine, cozy bed... what more can you ask of an Inn? It was our dream when we first decided to become innkeepers.
L’Auberge Eymet’s little history
During a stay in Sainte-Eulalie d’Eymet, in the South-West of France, we decided that the time had come to build and run our own inn in Cocagne NB. At that time, my, now late, husband and I decided to treat ourselves to our own dinning room where Charles (my late husband) would be able to serve his creations to our guests.
Since he’s left, much too early, I decided to change the vocation of the inn to turn it into a bed and breakfast.
